SUMMARY:Firekeepers Summer Village Camp 2023
DESCRIPTION:~Tickets will be released here at 7:30am on Wednesday the 23rd of November ~\n(Note this in your diary as they are likely to sell quickly). \n\n“Cooee\, Cooee\, Can you hear the sound of the wind in the eucalyptus trees… is that sound the sound of the wind\, or is someone calling me?” (lyrics by Don Spencer) \nIs that someone calling you to unwind\, come and surround yourself with tall trees\, cool streams\, mornings hearing kids’ voices trailing through the bush\, off exploring with mentors and new friends\, afternoons relaxing into conversations with adults and friends old and new and nights sharing food around the fire in a beautiful\, welcoming\, earth-based community? \nCalling you back to the village\, back to the land\, to a deep connection to self\, others and nature? \nWhere there is time for everyone to relax\, play or explore in nature\, learn and practice earth-based skills and share the magic of stories and songs around the campfire?? \nWe are excited to announce our Summer Village Camp! \n\nTuesday 17 – Sunday 22 January\n\n\nRediscover your inner wild. \nCome alive with a vibrant community of humans. \nImmerse yourself in the wonder and wisdom of nature. \nGather by the campfire and learn earth-based skills. \nWatch your kids become more comfortable in the wild. \nOne wonderful aspect that came out of the challenges of the last few years has been a greater appreciation of the importance of nature\, wild spaces\, and the simple things\, like veggie gardens and birds in our backyards. Camp is an opportunity to deepen into this nature connection\, and experience how deeply it can support all aspects of our collective lives. \n~Weaving our village – What to expect…~ \nArrive to a warm bush welcome and settle into beautiful surroundings as village life awakens around you. Explore the wonders of the natural world\, practice earth-based crafts and skills\, share stories around the campfire\, laugh\, sing and relax into the rhythm of the earth. Learn\, practice\, play\, gather\, and rest as together we breathe life into the village. \nAdults\, kids\, teens\, parents\, elders and littlies will all find magic to discover in the village. In the past\, villagers have woven baskets from grass fibres\, made fire without matches\, practised listening to the language of birds\, slept out in bush shelters\, engaged their senses to follow tracks and signs of life in the wild\, played wild games for hours\, eco-dyed garments in a bubbling pot over the campfire and shared adventurous stories and songs circles under the stars. What will we create together during these school holidays? \nEach morning\, awaken to the gentle\, melodic tunes of our morning singers (or awaken earlier to the chorus of birds emanating from the surrounding bush!) After breakfast\, gather with the whole village before the kids\, teens\, littlies and adults go their separate ways for a morning of play and adventure. \nKids venture into the bush to experience a free-flowing exploration of the surrounding bush with experienced nature connection mentors. Together the mentors and kids immerse in story and song\, play games\, follow their curiosity and creativity as they wander and explore\, find animal tracks and practice wild skills and crafts. Over the days\, they will open into a deep awareness of the wild world as they connect with plants\, earth\, animals and each other. \nAdults choose their own adventure: learning earth-based skills and exploring nature observation and ecological literacy. With the kids off with mentors\, there is time for adults to engage in their own playful nature with awareness games and bushcraft activities – this is a chance for your archetypal ‘wild child’ to come alive. Some folks opt for deeply connective adult sharing circles where parents and adults alike are held in a safer space to share how folks are really travelling. A warm and welcoming well-being space catches tired bodies and souls throughout the day\, with tea and cushions and rugs a-plenty. \nLittle ones who are still “in the pouch” gather together with their parents and mentors to play and have adventures a little closer to camp. \nTeens are empowered to lean in and co-design their own journey. This may involve deepening their nature-based skills and exploration\, epic adventures further afield\, leading and honouring rites of passage\, weaving their energy in with the adult program\, or being in service and supported to mentor younger kids. \nThis spring camp we are offering our teens a bigger journey. For those who are ready and able\, we are planning a 2-night hike away from the village. We will send them off in a good way to go out to have their own adventures and experiences\, and then welcome them back to the village to catch the stories and learnings of their journey. \nWith our village reunited after adventurous mornings\, the afternoons are free-flowing. Villagers play with new friends\, practice their new skills\, share their talents with an impromptu workshop or board game or just chill out. Some might wish to head off for a wander or take some quiet time to rest and relax. \nAs the sun sets\, delicious smells waft from our fabulous cooks in the kitchen and with song\, hungry villagers gather to share in wholesome home-cooked dinner around the fire. A natural storytelling space opens as the day’s tales of adventure and discovery and laughter bubble up to be shared. When the fire dies down and the stars come out\, tuckered-out little ones are sung off as they wander off to their tents. Some nights lend themselves to after-dark bush adventures too\, before sleeping close to the earth and waking to the morning chorus again. \n-Logistics- \nProgram: \nTickets include a Welcome to Country from a respected Wurrundjeri elder\, nature connection mentoring and facilitation\, morning and evening program\, camping accommodation (with flushing toilets and hot showers!)\, workshop materials and hot camp-cooked dinner each night. \nParticipants need to bring their own tent and camping gear (get in touch if you need some help here). \nMorning mentoring program: 8:30 am -12:30 pm \nSeparate programs for kids\, teens\, littlies (0-3) and adults \nKids aged 4 and up\, and teens go out in small similar-aged groups with experienced nature connection mentors. \nAdult program of sharing circles\, earth-based skills\, nature observation and ecological literacy. \nA Roo & Joey program for parents and their children under 4 who are still “in the pouch” they stay closer to camp and go on smaller adventures. \n*All of our mentors have Working With Children Checks and we have qualified First Aiders. \nThe kids return to their parents for lunch and an open space afternoon\, with opportunities to contribute to the collective running of the village. \nDinner is served around 6 and an evening program follows. \nAll members are welcome to participate as much or as little in the activities as they need to feel at home in the village. \nFood: \nEach villager or family will bring their own breakfast\, lunch and snacks. We welcome all that is alive in each of you and we look forward to finding our feet together again. \nFirekeepers’ general Covid Safe Plan and procedures specifically to reduce the risk of Covid on camp\, will be emailed to participants in our welcome email. \n\nPricing \nWe price our camps to be as inclusive as possible with sliding scale and pay-it-forward pricing options available\, as well as zip-pay\, and invoicing when necessary\, eg for using NDIS funding\, so that folks can contribute from their various financial situations. SUMMARY:Village Camp- Autumn 2022
DESCRIPTION:The land is calling us and we are drawn to gather… \nDo you hear the call to smell the comfort of a campfire\, to hear kids’ voices trailing through the bush\, to relax into conversations with adults and friends old and new? \nAre you feeling the call to unwind and reconnect with a beautiful\, connective\, earthy community? \nWe are calling in an Autumn Village Camp \n~Running from Wednesday 20 April to Sunday 24 April at Rowallan Scout Camp in Riddells Creek~ \n  \nRediscover your inner wild. \nCome alive with a vibrant community of humans. \nImmerse yourself in the wonder and wisdom of nature. \nGather by the campfire and learn earth based skills. \nWatch your kids become more comfortable in the wild. \nOne wonderful aspect that came out of the challenges of the last few years has been a greater appreciation of the importance of nature\, wild spaces\, and for the simple things\, like vegie gardens and birds in our backyards. Camp is an opportunity to deepen into this nature connection\, and experience how deeply it can support all aspects of our collective lives. \nA big challenge that’s arisen for Firekeepers during this time is how best to serve our community when\, under the current vaccine mandate\, our whole community can’t gather together in person. In a time of division in the world\, we long to come together as a whole. This Autumn camp will be different from those that have come before\, we will notice the absence of invaluable community members\, and we will need extra volunteer crew members and mentors to support us this time around. \nPlease continue reading to the end for more about this heartfelt topic and ways for you to share your feelings and responses to camp going ahead at this time*. \n  \n~Weaving our village – What to expect…~ \nArrive to a warm bush welcome and settle into beautiful surroundings as village life awakens around you. Explore the wonders of the natural world\, practice earth-based crafts and skills\, share stories around the campfire\, laugh\, sing and relax into the rhythm of the earth. Learn\, practice\, play\, gather\, rest as together we breathe life into the village. \nAdults\, kids\, teens\, parents\, elders and littlies will all find magic to discover in the village. In the past\, villagers have woven baskets from grass fibres\, made fire without matches\, practised listening to the language of birds\, slept out in bush shelters\, engaged their senses to follow tracks and signs of life in the wild\, played wild games for hours\, eco-dyed garments in a bubbling pot over the campfire\, shared adventurous stories and songs circles under the stars. What will we create together these school holidays? \nEach morning\, awaken to the gentle\, melodic tunes of our morning singers (or awaken earlier to the chorus of birds emanating from the surrounding bush!) After breakfast\, gather with the whole village before the kids\, teens\, littlies and adults go their separate ways for a morning of play and adventure. \nKids venture into the bush to experience a free flowing exploration of the surrounding bush with experienced nature connection mentors. A warm and welcoming wellbeing space catches tired bodies and souls throughout the day\, with tea and cushions and rugs a plenty. \nWith our village reunited after adventurous mornings the afternoons are free flowing. Villagers play with new friends\, practice their new skills\, share their talents with an impromptu workshop or board game or just chill out. Some might wish to head off for a wander or take some quiet time to rest and relax. \nAs the sun sets\, delicious smells waft from our fabulous cooks in the kitchen and with song\, hungry villagers gather to share in wholesome home cooked dinner around the fire. A natural storytelling space opens as the day’s tales of adventure and discovery and laughter bubble up to be shared. When the fire dies down and the stars come out\, tuckered out little ones are sung off as they wander off to their tents. Some nights lend themselves to after dark bush adventures too\, before sleeping close to the earth and waking to the morning chorus again. \n-Logistics- \nProgram: \nTickets include a Welcome to Country\, nature connection mentoring and facilitation\, morning and evening program\, camping accommodation (with flushing toilets and hot showers!)\, hot camp cooked dinner each night and workshop materials. \nParticipants need to bring a tent and camping gear. \nMorning mentoring program: 8:30 am -12:30 pm \nSeparate programs for kids\, teens\, littlies (0-3) and adults \nKids aged 4 and up\, and teens go out in small similar aged groups with experienced nature connection mentors. \nAdult program of sharing circles\, earth-based skills\, nature observation and ecological literacy. \nA Roo & Joey program for parents and their children under 4 who are still “in the pouch” they stay closer to camp\, and go on smaller adventures. \n*All of our mentors have Working With Children Checks and we have qualified First Aiders. \nThe kids return to their parents for lunch and an open space afternoon. \nDinner is served around 6 and an evening program follows. \nAll members are welcome to participate as much or as little in the activities as they need to feel at home in the village. \n  \nFood: \nEach villager or family will bring their own breakfast\, lunch and snacks. Depending on fire restrictions\, there may be some space for campfire cooking\, but if you want cooked breakfasts or dinners\, it’s a good idea to bring your own camp cooking equipment. \nWe provide 4 delicious and kid friendly evening meals. Catering for omnivorous\, vegetarian\, vegan\, gluten free and dairy free dietary requirements if notified on booking. If you have further requirements\, you may need to bring extra food to supplement. \n  \nCovid 19: \nEveryone over the age of 18 who attends this camp will need to show their proof of double vaccination or an exemption\, and will need to return a negative RAT or PCR test within 24 hours fo travelling to camp. \nFirekeepers general Covid Safe Plan can be found here more details and procedures specifically to reduce the risk of Covid on camp\, will be emailed to participants in the welcome email. \n  \n*We know that land and community is the balm the world needs at this moment\, and as an Incorporated Organisation we are limited in the ways we can offer this balm right now. In accordance with the legal advice we have received and our resultant Covid 19 vaccination policy\, everyone over the age of 18 who attends this camp will need to show their proof of double vaccination or an exemption. \n  \nA Bittersweet Decision… \nWe do not take this decision to run a camp that not all can attend lightly. We make it with sadness in our hearts as we acknowledge those who will not be there. This camp will be different to those that have come before. \n  \nWe have come to this decision because we believe strongly in the work that Firekeepers does of supporting folks on their journey of rediscovering and deepening their relationship with the natural world; of discovering what it feels like to be in connection with the natural cycles; and of finding their way into a like-hearted community. We feel it is important to offer this to those who have been awakened to the wonders of nature over the past couple of years and yearn to continue their journey in community. \n  \nWe acknowledge that some among this community dearly want to join us and won’t be able to attend this camp because of their vaccination status. Some members of the Firekeepers board and core working team will be there and some won’t. Those who will be in attendance carry mixed feelings – joy to meet and play and fan the flames of connection and sadness about who and what will be missing. We feel the loss for the whole community that some folks will not be there with us in April. We don’t know how to soothe this wound; we only know that we need to feel the ache of it. \n  \nOne-on-one support \nWe have arranged for community member\, Kiri Bear to hold space for one-on-one conversations with members of our community who are impacted by our decision to run a camp at this time when not all community members are able to join. Kiri is volunteering a 90 minute feelings exploration (Possibility coaching) session to members of the Firekeepers community who want space to debrief about how they are affected by this decision. Book in directly for a session with Kiri here.  \n  \nAre you keen to grow your own community building skills? \nWe at Firekeepers have been learning\, practicing and developing our skills in community building\, spaceholding and mentoring over many years\, and we would like to empower members of our community to carry those skills forward. As Firekeepers community members\, you all carry the flame of nature connection and community building that is nourished at Firekeepers gatherings. We invite you to nurture and foster that in your own communities. \n  \nWith this in mind\, we will be offering online training in nature connection mentoring and village building in late autumn and winter. If you want to show up more fully in community and develop your capacity to create spaces of deep connection\, please keep your eye out for more news on that offering and let us know if you are interested!

SUMMARY:Village Camp- Spring 2021 - Cancelled
DESCRIPTION:It’s been a long 18 months of lockdowns\, social isolation and slow emergence for Victorians. We have all been boxed in at home much more thant we expected. Last year adults quickly learned how to work from cupboards and bedrooms\, lost their employment or soldiered on in essential services. Kids of all ages were cooped up inside on screens for hours for school. Homeschoolers’ groups and activities have been cancelled. Teens and young adults stuck at home missed hanging out with their peers and marking key rites of passage. Young kids too skipped important transitions and have had much less interaction with children their age. Parents have been champions juggling work and parenting and remote learning in a very uncertain atmosphere. Single folk have done it tough being separated from family and friends. And elders have been shuttered up with fear and isolated from their communities. Pwoah! \nOne wonderful aspect that came out of the lock downs has been a greater appreciation of the importance of nature\, wild spaces\, and for the simple things\, like vegie gardens and birds in our backyards. If this was you\, then we are sure that nature connection can continue to support us as we more fully emerge from our year of disconnection. \nDo you hear the call to stretch your wings and get out a bit further… without crossing state lines (!)\, to smell the comforting smell of a campfire\, to hear kids voices trailing through the bush\, to relax into conversations with adults and friends old and new? \n\n\nSo\, it is with excitement and relief that we present our Spring Village Camp!\n\nAfter such a time of forced isolation and separation from people\, many folk found solace in the more than human world. In emerging from lock-down\, for many folks we hope that nature will continue to be an ongoing support in our healing.\n\n\nFeel the call to unwind and reconnect with a beautiful\, connective\, earthy community? Autumn Village Camp is what you have been looking for to ease your weary heart and soul.\nRediscover your inner wild.\nCome alive with a vibrant community of humans.\nImmerse yourself in the wonder and wisdom of nature.\nGather by the campfire and learn earth based skills.\nWatch your kids become more comfortable in the wild.\n\n\n“Attending Village Camp was a turning point in my life … There was a magic at camp that has stayed with me\, long after my tent was packed away. I left feeling so inspired\, it was a remembering\, an opening to possibilities for living that I had never conceived before.” Becky\, mentor and mother of two young children.\n\n\n~Come and reweave our village together~\n\n\nArrive to a warm bush welcome and settle into our beautiful surroundings as village life awakens around you. Explore the wonders of the natural world\, practice earth-based crafts and skills\, share stories around the campfire\, laugh\, sing and relax into the rhythm of the earth. Learn\, practice\, play\, gather\, rest as together we breathe life into the village.\n\n\nAdults\, kids\, teens\, parents\, elders and littlies will all find magic to discover in the village. In the past\, villagers have woven baskets from grass fibres\, made fire without matches\, practiced listening to the language of birds\, slept out in bush shelters\, engaged their senses to follow tracks and signs of life in the wild\, played wild games for hours\, eco-dyed garments in a bubbling pot over the camp fire\, shared adventurous stories and songs circles under the stars. What will we create together next school holidays?\n\n\nEach morning\, awaken to the gentle\, melodic tunes of our morning singers (or awaken earlier to the chorus of birds emanating from the surrounding bush!)\nAfter breakfast\, gather with the whole village before the kids\, teens\, littlies and adults go their separate ways for a morning of play and adventure.\n\n\nKids venture into the bush to experience a free flowing exploration of the surrounding bush with experienced nature connection mentors. Together the mentors and kids immerse in story and song\, play games\, follow their curiosity and creativity as they wander and explore\, find animal tracks and practice wild skills and crafts. Over the days\, they will open into a deep awareness of the wild world as they connect with plants\, earth\, animals and each other.\n\n\nAdults choose their own adventure: learning earth-based skills and exploring nature observation and ecological literacy. With the kids off with mentors\, there is time for adults to engage in their own playful nature with awareness games and bushcraft activities – this is a chance for your archetypal ‘wild child’ to come alive. Some folks opt for deeply connective adult sharing circles where parents and adults alike are held in a safer space to share how folks are really traveling. A warm and welcoming wellbeing space catches tired bodies and souls throughout the day\, with tea and cushions and rugs a plenty.\n\n\nLittle ones who are still “in the pouch” gather together with their parents and mentors to play and have adventures a little closer to camp.\n\n\nTeens are empowered to lean in and co-design their own journey. This may involve deepening their nature-based skills and exploration\, epic adventures further afield\, leading and honouring rites of passage\, weaving their energy in with the adult program\, or being in service and supported to mentor younger kids.\n\n\nWith our village reunited after adventurous mornings the afternoons are free flowing. Villagers play with new friends\, practice their new skills\, share their talents with an impromptu workshop or board game or just chill out. Some might wish to head off for a wander or take some quiet time to rest and relax.\n\n\nAs the sun sets\, delicious smells waft from our fabulous cooks in the kitchen and with song\, hungry villagers gather to share in wholesome home cooked dinner around the fire. A natural storytelling space opens as the day’s tales of adventure and discovery and laughter bubble up to be shared.\n\n\nWhen the fire dies down and the stars come out\, tuckered out little ones are sung off as they wander off to their tents. Some nights lend themselves to after dark bush adventures too\, before a sleeping close to the earth and waking to the morning chorus again.\n\n\n“This camp is organised from the heart\, and holds connection to oneself\, land and community in a truly caring balance\,” village elder\, mother and artist.\n\n\n“From 2 kids saying ‘Do we have to go’ to ‘When is it happening again?- I don’t want to leave!” Journalist and parent of two boys 7 & 9\n\n\nWill you be there this time? Who and what will you bring with you for this magical experience?\n\n\n-Logistics-\n\n\nWho is this for?\nEveryone! This is a family friendly\, drug and alcohol free event\, with the program open to all- from babies to elders and everyone in between.\n\n\nProgram:\n\nTickets include a Welcome to Country\, nature connection mentoring and facilitation\, morning and evening program\, camping accommodation (with flushing toilets and hot showers!)\, hot camp cooked dinner each night and workshop materials.\nParticipants need to bring a tent and camping gear.\n\n\nMorning mentoring program: 8:30-12:30\nSeparate programs for kids\, teens\, littlies (0-3) and adults\nKids aged 4 and up and teens go out in small similar aged groups with experienced nature connection mentors.\nAdult program of sharing circles\, earth-based skills\, nature observation and ecological literacy.\nA Roo & Joey program for parents and their children under 4 who are still “in the pouch” they stay closer to camp\, and go on smaller adventures.\n*All of our mentors have Working With Children Checks and we have qualified First Aiders.\n\nThe kids return to their parents for lunch and an open space afternoon.\nDinner is served around 6 and an evening program follows.\nAll members are welcome to participate as much or as little in the activities as they need to feel at home in the village.\n\n\nFood:\nEach villager or family will bring their own breakfast\, lunch and snacks. SUMMARY:Spring Holiday Program- Online & Outside
DESCRIPTION:Finding it hard to peel the kids off the screens? Need a boost of inspiration and new ideas to get out into nature after our long winter? Want your kids to connect with other nature kids and mentors these holidays? \nWe are inspiring kids and families to get out and adventuring in nature these Spring school holidays during Covid 19 restrictions. \nThe sessions are designed for kids 5-12 (but they are universal passions\, so siblings and family members of all ages will likely enjoy being involved during the day).  Ideas and suggestions in the morning will help the kids find their own sense of agency to create this adventure for themselves\, hopefully with less help needed from parents. \nOur online and outside program will include: \nA 30 minute Morning session on zoom with a small group of kids (max 10) and 2 experienced nature connection mentors. Here kids will meet each other\, play games\, learn new skills and receive their nature play mission for the day. \n9 – 9.30 or 10-10.30* \nAND \nA 30-45 minute Afternoon session on zoom with the same small group and mentors\, where we each child will have a chance to share their story of the day\, have it caught and deepened by nature connection mentors. They will see each other’s magnificent creations and seed new explorations for the rest of the week. \n2-2.45 or 3.15 – 4pm* \n*Depending on popularity\, we may run 2 small groups each day. If we do we will break the kids into older and younger age groups. We will confirm your session time (9am +2pm or 10am + 3:15pm)\, the day prior to the event. \nWeek 1: Exploration and Mapping \nTuesday 22nd Sept\nGroup 1: 9am +2pm\nGroup 2: 10am + 3:15pm\nMentors: Claire M & Katrina\n\nJoin us for a day of exploration\, mapping\, and creativity! A day to deepen our relationship with our local areas and to explore what is special for us. \nWe will be tuning into our nature super powers\, to find out what unique places\, creatures\, and other magical secrets inhabit our local areas. \nIf you can’t access a local park within your 5km\, then this Mapping Day/ day of exploration can be experienced from your window\, your backyard\, your street. All options will be full of opportunities for creation! \nYou will need : basic art materials including paper and things to write and draw with. \nWeek 2: Cubby and Shelter building\nMonday 28 Sept\nGroup 1: 9am +2pm\nGroup 2: 10am + 3:15pm\nMentors: Mel & Claire M \nBuilding shelters connect kids with a sense of identity and place. But shelter building also involves connecting with the landscape\, with concepts of history and science.. and it’s loads of fun!!\nCan you make a shelter that would keep you dry from what you can find around you? How about a model one? How can you make a cosy home for yourself or for imaginative play/ Or a survival shelter? Or somewhere to camp out for the night? Will it pass the storm test? \nThis Shelter Building Day can be experienced at a local park\, in your back yard or even in your living room (perhaps not the storm test!). All options will be full of opportunities for creativity\, play and engineering! \nYou will need : we will help kids identify the potential equipment and materials they have at home or in their backyard or local park\, being mindful of environmental impact. They may also want the use of a phone or camera for taking photos of their creations.

SUMMARY:Firekeepers Spring Virtual Village
DESCRIPTION:Tracker and Naturalist Jon Young says that keeping nature stories to yourself and not sharing them with friends\, family or your community is like never developing the film from your camera. (Back when we regularly used cameras…and film). In the story telling and catching and deeper questioning\, we get to develop and deepen our connection and curiosity. \nDuring this lock down\, we have been crafting weekly programs of nature connection activities to inspire you to get out into nature and then a space to catch your nature stories and deepen your curiosity and learning. \nFor many of us\, especially those in Melbourne- Naarm\, nature in whatever way we can connect with it\, has become a balm and important support during the Covid 19 restrictions. Even when we can’t be physically close to our human friends\, there are always birds to watch near by\, flowers offering their springy fragrances and a tree open for a hug! As well as fostering a deeper connection with nature\, our mission is to build connection to self and community. We offer these gatherings to hold space for all of us at this time- to continue old and grow new community connections and build all of our resilience at this time where isolation and loneliness are rife. \nIn this series we will be delving into: \n-Tracking with Claire Mosley and Mel Turnbull \n-Birds & Life cycles with Claire Dunn & Katrina Roberg \n-Nature Mandalas with Claire Mosley and Skye Mandozay \n-Shelter Building with Steph Brophy and Ollie Fabinyi \n-Steph Brophy will be our Storyteller in residence this program – weaving engaging and interactive stories and supporting other storytellers through the weeks. \nAll ages and faces (new and old) are welcome! We have babies to elders join\, though it is geared towards kid’s engagement. 🙂 Nature celebrates diversity\, and so do we. You do not have to have been on one of our programs before to join in. \nThis is our second round of Firekeepers Virtual Village\, we are grateful for and have incorporated feedback from our Winter Villagers and from our Virtual Village Camp held back in Autumn. \nRead what have previous villagers said about the program? \n“Virtual Village was a joy to connect with others who share our family passion of nature connection. Having other people talk so passionately about their nature connection experiences strengthens what i as a mother am bringing to my children. Being involved in Firekeepers programs creates a culture of excitement to be in connection with nature and community\, that i can’t bring to my children alone. It normalises and celebrates our deep joy of seeing a particular bird\, finding an edible weed\, a track or a scat.” Parent \nThe Virtual Village was a delightful way to connect with friends new and old\, and discover ways to spend time exploring nature. Meeting birds\, finding plants\, nature journaling\, the magic of fire and the senses were covered in this incredible five week program. We looked forward to the weekly meeting and our hearts are filled with gratitude and love. I would highly recommend this program to families with young children needing an antidote to all the screen time that creeps into our lives.Thank you Firekeepers!” Indrani Perera\, poet and publisher of the Pocketry Almanack \nDetails:\nWeekly Email Invitations \nAn email is sent out when you register and then each Thursday. Inside are a couple of different invitations\, via video and text- These are each designed to spark the varied interests of our village members – young and old. You don’t have to do all of it\, just what sparks interest for you. You have the week to participate in whatever way you want with the activity instruction (including … not- no judgement!) \nWeekly Village Gathering  \nWe will gather on Zoom each Thursday during the series from 4-5pm to see each other’s faces and connect. This will be a facilitated hour\, It will look like:\nWelcoming new folks\, (before others arrive)\,\nWelcome\, Acknowledgement & Gratitude\,\nSinging together / Group game\,\nBreak out rooms to share stories of the week\,\nGroup report backs\,\nAnnouncements\,\nStory from our Storyteller\nPreview of next week’s activity\nClosing song\nand an option to hang out afterwards in a breakout room if you wish.; \n* All activities are invitations and optional and though we would love to see your face\, you can choose to keep your camera off if you would feel more comfortable that way. \nFacebook Group \nWe have a group\, for those who use Facebook\, to share photos and stories from our adventures\, as well as the Thursday gathering space. This was a great way to stay connected with the weekly activity last time. \nWe will also continue to be holding our Free Monthly Community evening spaces on Wednesdays via Zoom: \nWednesday Warble Song Circle\n1st Wednesday/Month- 7-8:30pm \nSinging together online can be surprisingly connective and lots of fun! Let’s gather to sing some of our camp favourites and also some new songs – bring a song or two to share if you feel to! For adults and kids. \nVillage Heart Adults’ Sharing Circle – Register separately here\n3rd Wednesday/Month 8-9:30pm \nA space for adults of the village to share from the heart\, to bring yourself as you are and be with what is\, to speak and be heard\, to listen with curiosity and compassion. A space to deepen connection and understanding of one another. \nDates \nThursday – 10 Sept – FREE Community Village Gathering \nThursday – 10 Sept – Virtual Village bookings open and email invitation available \nWednesday – 16 Sept – Village Heart Sharing Circle \nThursday – 17 Sept – Weekly Village Gathering: Tracking with Claire Mosley & Mel Turnbull \nThursday – 24 Sept – Weekly Village Gathering: Birds & Life Cycles with Claire Dunn & Katrina Roberg \nThursday – 1st Oct – Weekly Village Gathering: Nature Mandalas with Claire Mosley & Skye Mandozay \nWednesday – 7 Oct – Monthly Village Song Circle \nThursday – 8 Oct – Weekly Village Gathering: Shelter with Steph Brophy & Ollie Fabinyi \nPricing and registration \nSliding scale $50-$150 per household for the 4 week block. \nWe are offering sliding scale payments in recognition that not everyone has the same means. We ask that you consider your means and your willingness to pay for this offering. The higher price points support us to be able to offer the lower prices\, to pay our facilitators and to support Firekeepers ongoing. No questions will be asked and no judgments made about how much each participant chooses to pay. We also have some tickets available on a NOTAFLOF basis (No one turned away for lack of funds) and free spots for First Nations participants. \nA sliding scale payment system is based on trust – thanks for bravely engaging in this experiment with us! \nNote: If you would prefer to be invoiced for this event for NDIS purposes\, please contact Mel directly at mel@firekeepers.com.au.

SUMMARY:Queer Wilderness Retreat: The nature of queerness and belonging
DESCRIPTION:Nature reminds us that being Queer* is both natural and something to be celebrated! Showing up as who we are in our own unique queer form is a celebration of nature’s diversity and honors our profound connection to the natural world and a deep sense of belonging. \nAccepting the fullness of our queer selves is both a radical act of rebellion against forces of hate and division\, and a radical act of communion with all living things. Now is the time to reclaim our roots and celebrate the gifts that our queerness brings to the world! \nCome join us as we move through the seasons of our queerness opening to and honoring our full nature. This ceremonial time is designed specifically for the LGBTQIA+ community. This journey will have guided\, intentional time on the land each day along with time gathering together in council to tell and witness our diverse and unique queer stories. \nAs one participant has put it: \n“In sacred circles before\, I have found an ally or two\, another queer person who understands in some fundamental way some part of my story. But to sit in sacred space with an entire group that shares that common thread\, that common understanding of shame and fear and celebration\, that is a gift that I had no idea until I stepped into that space that my soul was craving.” -Alicia B. \nThe retreat will be guided by Ruth Wharton and Pedro McMillan\, experienced Vision Fast and Queer Quest guides with the School of Lost Borders. All guides and assistants on this program identify as queer. \nLOCATION AND DATES: We will meet in the afternoon/evening of April 25th\, 2020 at Trentham East\, a 1 hour drive north of Melbourne. The program will end early afternoon on May 1st. \nENROLLING AND COST:\nTuition/Guide Fee: $975 AUD ($800 Concession) with limited scholarships available. A non refundable deposit of $350 is required and will hold your place.\nCamping Fee: $60\nFood not included.\nPlease email Pedro at pedro@pedrosplanet.com to enroll or enquire about scholarships. You can pay or put down a deposit through here:\nhttps://events.humanitix.com.au/queer-wilderness-retreat-the-nature-of-queerness-and-belonging \nLOGISTICS: Plan to bring a tent\, sleeping mat and sleeping bag to ‘car camp’ and food for the entire program. We will often share meals so bringing things that can be shared is a good idea. You can also eat alone if you wish. There is a outdoor camp kitchen for your use. \nGUIDES\nRuth Wharton:\nDeeply rooted in earth\, body\, ceremony and a long lineage of guides from the School of Lost Borders\, Ruth offers an abundance of love and fierce insight to those Ruth guides and mentors. Beginning to guide wilderness rites of passage at the age of 21\, Ruth’s experience spans over 2 decades\, supporting over 1000 people of all ages through initiation practices. As a licensed professional counselor\, wilderness therapist and guide\, play therapist\, and wilderness first responder\, Ruth has worked in a variety of settings supporting diverse people in meaningful life passages. As a guide working with the School of Lost Borders for over 20 years\, Ruth is also one of the founders of both the Women’s Fast and Queer Quest. Being gender expansive and having a strong focus on social justice\, Ruth is continually on the path of creating inclusive and accessible space for all people. Ruth continues to guide\, offer trainings and mentorship in the Wild Mountains of Colorado and around the world. Traveling to support communities cross culturally\, Ruth is continually learning from diverse landscapes and people inspired by our differences\, earth based common threads\, and shared humanity. \nPedro McMillan:\nAs an elder with long experience with rites of passage\, Pedro brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding to teaching and holding space for those called to the land. Pedro has been a guide working with the School of Lost Borders since 2010 after nearly 15 years of participating\, training and assisting programs with the School. Pedro’s experience as a long time business owner and eco-entrepreneur gives him a clear view of the many challenges we face as modern humans and brings a strong and compassionate heart to rites of passage work. As a co-founder of the Queer Quest program at the School of Lost Borders\, Pedro also brings an understanding of the need to create inclusive and safe spaces for marginalized groups and is committed to the work of social justice. \nASSISTANTS:\nLocal nature connection mentors and guides Mel Turnbull and Emily Steele have both undertaken training with Ruth and Pedro through the School of Lost Borders and will assist with this program. \nThis event will be held on Dja Dja Wurrung land. We pay respects to the Dja Dja Wurrung people\, and their elders past\, present and emerging. We acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded. \nWe also acknowledge our past present and emerging queer* ancestors and leaders of all cultural diversities\, on whose shoulders we now stand. \n*We recognize and honor that the word “queer” has been used in the past as a derogatory term and may still be hurtful for some in the LGBTQIA+ community. Many of us have reclaimed the word “queer” and this has been both empowering and uniting of the multiple identities within the community. We use the word here as an inclusive term and shortcut for the LGBTQIA+ lettering.

SUMMARY:The Art of Storytelling: Practice and Play!
DESCRIPTION:Have you noticed how a good story totally lights up a space? I have come to realise that storytelling at its best is very alive to the moment. Stepping into a story is like stepping into a great adventure. The storyteller\, like the adventurer\, has stepped out of known territory onto rocky\, uneven ground\, where each step is a conversation with the world. The teller\, like the adventurer\, must be alive to all that lives in the space. \nI have also noticed\, for myself at least\, that having a space to tell a story or to express my creativity\, can make me more alive to the world as I navigate life – on wanders\, sit spots\, in conversations with human and more-than-human beings\, at work\, while cooking dinner\, wherever it may be… Having a space into which my creativity can flow often seems to make me more alive to inspiration in the world around me. \nAnd I think we get better at things through practice and play. I want to practise telling stories with whatever ingredients are showing up in my life at any moment. I want to practise stepping off that ledge into the unknown territory of a living story. I want to practise stepping into the fear of the unknown\, into the place where I must meet each moment with presence and aliveness. I want to play with story and creativity and see what flows. Sometimes it might be terrible! I might get lost in my mind\, unable to find the flow. Other times\, the magic of a truly alive story might flow forth and light everyone up! \nWould you like to join me in exploring the art of storytelling in a space devoted to practice and play? No expectations\, no judgments\, a safe small-group space to play and explore the place where the imagination meets the world. \nWhen? \nFridays 2-4pm starting 7 August. \nWe will gather weekly for 4 weeks and see what emerges between us! \nCost: \nSliding scale from $40 to $120 for 4 sessions. \nIf you’re keen to join\, and this cost is prohibitive for you\, please be in touch with Steph at steph@firekeepers.com.au. \nStructure:\nWe’ll start with a short check in\, followed by some sort of story/imagination warm up\, then there will be space for 2 or 3 people each week to tell a story. You can bring a pre-prepared story or just some ingredients or sparks of inspiration. Or you could come totally empty-handed and see what emerges on the spot! I have a belief that we may realise that there will always be little sparks in there waiting for a place to show up\, no matter how unprepared or empty-handed we feel – I guess we’ll find out! The only guideline is that you don’t read your story from a page – you tell it and let it live… or fall flat. We will aim to finish with a brief check out to wrap up the journey we’ve been on together that day. \nWho? \nThis is for you if you believe stories are magic and want to share your love of stories with like minded group; if you want to explore story and storytelling in space that is supportive\, encouraging and playful; if you want to listen to stories from other explorers in the terrain of the imagination and feel able to be a non-judgmental\, supportive audience; if you feel able to commit to coming along regularly so we can build a safe space over time; if you feel ready to step into discomfort and trust in process over outcome. \nI mostly see this as a space for adults\, but kids who are keen and able to engage in a way that is supportive\, attentive and open to vulnerability are welcome. It’s an experiment\, so we can see how it unfolds. \nAbout me: \nI am Steph\, a nature connection mentor who has been working with Firekeepers while delving deeper into my own relationship with nature over the past several years. I remember being captured by the magic of story around a campfire about 5 years ago\, totally drawn in as the teller wove their tale. Since then\, I have been on my own exploration with story\, tiptoeing around the edges at first\, but going deeper with time and occasionally diving right into the depths! I am not an expert\, not a “master storyteller\,” but a lover of stories\, a lover of the spell that is cast by a magical tale and a consistent apprentice to the art of storytelling. I am curious about how storytelling interweaves with our connection to nature\, as well as to self and community. I believe we’re all born storytellers\, and I’m excited to continue to explore how we can uncover and open to that part of ourselves.

SUMMARY:Firekeepers Virtual Village At-Home Adventures and Weekly Story Gathering
DESCRIPTION:Need some extra inspiration to get outside wandering\, exploring\, playing? Looking for a little extra connection with a beautiful nature-loving community? \nAs we dive back into lockdown here in Naarm\, or so called Melbourne\, we are feeling the call to tend to the fire of community and connection. It feels like a time to turn towards each other\, to be present to each other\, to help each other find the little spark of wonder that moves us to notice and connect with the world around us. \nAs a community\, we have co-created some incredible magic at our Wild by Nature Village Camps over the past few years. Kids and adults alike come along to share in curiosity and adventure\, to make discoveries and learn skills\, to share stories and songs and celebrate ourselves\, each other and\, of course\, the incredible beings of the land we gather on. \nWhen Covid-19 restrictions hit earlier in the year and we couldn’t gather\, we had to adapt and we shared a beautiful and connective virtual village experience – not the same of course\, but incredible all the same. Now\, as we sit in the ongoing uncertainty of the moment\, we want to rekindle that magic and come together each week to fan the flames of connection between us and between us the wonderful world around us. \nSo\, here is the plan\, a two-part weekly offering plus a couple of monthly gatherings! \nWeekly Wander \nA Nature Adventure sent to you each Friday – something to get you out in nature\, wherever is available to you locally. Something to spark your curiosity\, to build awareness of the world around you\, to practise skills or crafts\, to move and play in your wild body. There will be something to discover for kids of all ages (including adult kids!) You do the activity in your own time during the week\, in whatever way works for you. And if you don’t get to it\, you don’t get to it. No pressure\, just an invitation to engage in some way with the magic of nature. \nWeekly Waggle* \nA Weekly Virtual Village gathering on Thursdays from 4-5pm on zoom to see each other’s faces and connect; to gather up our stories and adventures from the week into a big community bundle; to sing and maybe dance; to listen to stories of magic and wonder; and to hopefully to leave with our individual fires burning a little stronger. \nPlus Wednesday evening monthly spaces (open to the wider community): \nWednesday Warble Song Circle \nSinging together online can be surprisingly connective and lots of fun! Let’s gather to sing some of our camp favourites and also some new songs – bring a song or two to share if you feel to! For adults and kids. \nVillage Hearth Adults’ Sharing Circle \nA space for adults of the village to share from the heart to the heart\, to bring yourself as you are and be with what is\, to speak and be heard\, to listen with curiosity and compassion. A space where courage and vulnerability are welcome and celebrated. A space to deepen connection and understanding of one another. \nWe will have a little corner of facebook\, for those who are on facebook\, to share photos and stories from our adventures\, as well as the Thursday gathering space. \nWe’re keeping it simple and as accessible as possible. The invitation is that you engage in a way that works for you. All – kids\, families\, adults\, elders – are welcome\, as well as\, of course\, the winged ones and rooted ones and four-legged ones and scaly ones and creepy crawly ones and fungi ones and mossy ones and all the beings we meet along the way! \nDates \nWe will run our program for 5 weeks. \nWeekly Village Gathering: Thursdays 4-5pm from  6th August to 3rd September. \nWeekly Adventure Invitations: sent out Fridays starting 31 July \nWednesday Song Circle – Wednesday 5 August 7-8.30pm FREE session (Monthly 1st Wed/month) \nVillage Adults’ Sharing Circle – Wednesday 19 August 8-9.30pm FREE session (Monthly 3rd Wed/month) \n  \nPricing and registration \nSliding scale $50-$150 per household for the 5 week block. We also have some tickets available on a NOTAFLOF basis (No one turned away for lack of funds) \nA sliding scale payment system is based on trust – thanks for bravely engaging in this experiment with us!

SUMMARY:Wild By Nature Village Camp- Autumn 2020
DESCRIPTION:Are you ready to rediscover your inner wild? Do you want to immerse your family in the wonder and wisdom of nature while learning earth based skills? Do you want your kids to develop a deeper appreciation for living close to nature? \nJoin us this as we gather together to weave our very own village. Bring along your friends\, kids\, parents and grandparents to co-create a magical experience of connection\, fun\, traditional living skills and slowing down in a beautiful bush camp. \nSome feedback from our camps:\n“We left with a deep sense of belonging and community. A connection with earth\, ourselves\, each other”\n“A most amazing\, life altering experience for young and old” \n“From 2 kids saying ‘Do we have to go’ to ‘When is it happening again?- I don’t want to leave!” \n“We had a ball- learned heaps and would recommend to any family” \n“Great way to get the whole family into the bush. Age is no barrier- Just prepare for fun!” \nSo… \nWho is this for?\nEveryone! This is a family friendly\, drug and alcohol free event\, with the program open to all. A true village embraces all ages and faces\, we welcome diversity. \nHow does it work?\nYou arrive with your tent and camping gear to a warm bush welcome. For five days we will explore the natural world around us\, create fire without matches\, make baskets and other earth crafts\, play games\, share stories around the campfire\, laugh and sing\, and take a much needed breath of fresh air. \nEach morning\, kids\, youth and adults will embark on their own adventures\, each group exploring\, playing in and learning from the natural world. While the kids (aged 4+) venture out into the bush with experienced nature connection mentors*\, the adults stay closer around camp to learn earth-based skills and practice nature observation and awareness. Younger children (up to 3 years old) will stay with their parents/carers\, with an optional ‘roo and joey’ program for them to participate in too. Alternatively\, the young kids can stay with their adults while they participate in the adult program.\n*All of our mentors have Working With Children Checks and qualified First Aiders will be on hand should the need arise. \nAround lunchtime\, the kids will return from their adventures and rejoin their families for lunch and a free flowing afternoon. There will be time for village members to play with new friends\, practice their new skills\, share their talents or just chill out. Some might wish to head off for a wander or take some quiet time to rest and relax. \nWhat about food?\nEach family or person will bring their own breakfast\, lunch and snacks. There will be some space for campfire cooking\, but it would be a good idea to bring your own camp cooking equipment. \nWholesome dinners* will be cooked on and shared around the campfire in the evenings\, a space to share stories from our day full of adventures\, sing songs and relax in the atmosphere of the tribe. After the evening program we will head to our swags for a restful sleep to prepare for a new day of fun and adventure! \n*We are able to cater for omnivorous\, vegetarian/vegan\, gluten free and dairy free dietary requirements if notified on booking. If this isn’t you\, you will need to bring extra food to supplement. \nMorning programs\nFor the kids:\nEach morning with the camp mentors\, children and young people (aged 4+) will venture into the bush to experience a free flowing exploration of the surrounding bush. The mentors will guide the children’s play in a safe way and enable each child to connect with the natural world around them. We aim to create a safe space in which the children can listen to their own creativity. We will play games\, immerse in story and song\, wonder at the nature that surrounds us\, find animal tracks\, and learn wild skills such as fire\, shelter and craft. Through this play and exploration\, the kids will drop into a new awareness of the wild world around them\, connecting more deeply with the plants\, the earth\, the animals\, and with each other. \nFor the adults:\nWhile the kids adventure out into the wilds\, the adults will be invited on their own journey of learning and discovery. We will explore earth-based skills and crafts such as fire-by-friction\, string making\, coal burnt spoon crafting and basket weaving. We will also explore the Core Routines of Nature Connection through skills of observation and awareness\, bird language and natural movement. The archetypal ‘wild child’ will come alive through games\, nature play and connective activities. There will also be time to share and listen in circle. \nFor the littlies:\nA Roo & Joey program is offered for parents and their children too young to head out with the kids. This is facilitated by a mentor and is flexible to meet the needs of kids under 4 and their parents. Sometimes the Roo and Joey group will be close to home base and other times they will journey out into the wilds. We are sensitive to the fact that the practicalities of camping with a toddler or younger child will probably mean that parents can’t participate fully in the adult program\, as parents with older kids can. We want to support these parents to come to camp and be a valued part of the village\, which is why we offer the Roo and Joey program at a reduced price. \nFor the teens:\nWe will offer a varied program for teens in our village\, which will change each camp. In January our teens went off together on an over night hike with experienced mentors. There will be a focus on skill development as well as connection to self\, other\, community and nature and the more than human. We will work toward holding rites of passage for the young people that we are growing in our village \nParticipation in all activities is optional – we encourage individuals to listen to their own needs and follow their own curiosities. \nBookings open now. \nEarly bird tickets available until Sunday 23rd Feb. \nhttps://events.humanitix.com.au/autumn-wild-by-nature-village-camp-2020/

SUMMARY:Rewild Fridays Feb- March 2020
DESCRIPTION: \nAn Urban Dive into Deep Nature Connection Practices\nThe old ways are new again for the many now seeking to (re)learn the skills\, practices and mindsets of our ancestors – everything from our food to footwear. \nIt’s a movement that’s become known as ‘rewilding’; a return to a wilder or more natural\, instinctive way of being. In contrast to the ‘back to the land’ movement of the 70’s\, rewilding is as much urban as it is rural – wildness rather than wilderness. \nLearning daily practices to ground ourselves in the rhythms of nature\, and acquainting ourselves with the plants\, animals\, and elements of our bioregion\, we can begin to cultivate deep connection with earth wisdom\, ourselves and each other. \nAre you ready to create time for deep connection in your life?\nRewild Fridays is an ongoing program dedicated to exploring deep nature connection practices\, nature play\, community building and traditional earth skills within a small group of under 12 participants. \nTogether we will explore and experiment with practices and activities that will serve to embed us into the land we live (yes the city!)\, the more-than-human-world\, and each other. The goal here is connection – to self\, earth and community – the pathway to a life of vision and joy. \nWhat do we mean by Deep Nature Connection Practices?\nSpending time outdoors does not necessarily cultivate a deep connection to nature. Pioneers in the field drawing on anthropological study of indigenous cultures\, science\, and a long hard look at the effectiveness of environmental education have found that there are core practices that quickly create strong bonds of connection between humans and nature. \nSimple and repeatable practices such as tracking\, bird language\, sensory awareness and attuned mentorship are some of the most effective and ancient techniques that exist to enable profound connection with nature\, with ourselves\, and with each other. By understanding our relationships with the animals\, plants\, weather and wind\, and various aspects of the natural environment around us\, we re-pattern our brain and nervous system to activate what are known as ‘the attributes of connection’ – happiness\, vitality\, the ability to listen deeply\, increase empathy\, helpfulness\, true aliveness and gratitude for life\, compassion\, forgiveness and the quiet mind. \nWhat might we get up to?\nHere are some of the activities we may explore. Repeated over many weeks\, these practices strengthen the threads of connection until they become strong ropes of relationship. \n\nSit spots\nTracking\nBird Language\nMapping/Navigation\nIndigenous Knowledge\nNatural Movement & Awareness\nThe Art of Wandering\nNature Games and Play\nNature Literacy and Ecology\nWild Edibles and Medicinals\nFire-by-Friction\nNatural cordage and rope\nShelter Building\nEco-Dye\nHide Tanning\nBasket weaving\nHide Tanning\nCeremony\nCommunity Building\nCampfire cooking\n\n“For me\, Rewild Fridays has been an insightful and enchanting journey of both nature connection and self-discovery. Utilising a combination of traditional skills\, listening\, silence\, stillness and enquiry\, Claire and Mel have artfully guided my deepening connection to the natural world and opened my senses to a conversation I never knew existed. I will never be the same.” Seth Consedine\, Father and Osteopath. \n“Rewild Fridays gave me the skills\, knowledge and confidence to engage with the wild places all around me. It’s not just in the national parks an hour drive from my house – the wild is in my backyard\, my local park\, that tree right next to the milkbar. It’s made me feel more alive.” Michelle Kovacevic\, Mother and Community Organiser. \nThe Facilitators\nMelissa Turnbull  and Claire Dunn are both passionate about nature connection and have been studying for many years with experts in the field such as Jon Young from the 8 Shields Institute. The main facilitators of the program\, Mel and Claire will also invite various experts in the field such as naturalists\, ecologists and skills experts to guide. Indigenous involvement is also something that will be sought (see more below). \n  \nThe Details\nRewild Fridays is a regular dedicated program of study and nature adventure held on Fridays between 9.30am – 3pm over four teaching terms in parkland settings within Melbourne’s inner north. A couple of times a term we venture out of the city for a day long ‘excursion’ for immersion in a wilder landscape or during particular foraging seasons such as mushrooming in autumn. \nWhy is this not on a weekend?\nRather than an extra-curricular activity\, this is a commitment akin to any other program of study. And besides\, we like family/play time on weekends. \nDates\nThe term will consist of 8 dates in Feb/March: \nFeb 7 – Core Routines of Nature Connection – Melissa \nFeb 14 – Excursion for Coastal Foraging – Guest Facilitator Christine Rockley: \nFeb 21 – Bird Language – Claire \nFeb 28 – Expanding Sensory Awareness – Melissa \nMarch 6 – Holistic Tracking Adventure – Melissa \nMarch 13 – Plant Communication – Guest Facilitator Rosie Cooper. \nMarch 20 – Basket weaving – Melissa \nMarch 27 – Fire-by-friction – Claire \nRegistration: \n5 class passes $375 waged / $350 concession \nDrop-in passes: $85 waged / $75 concession \nCancellation Policy\nTickets are only valid for this term. Dates of attendance must be confirmed before term starts. Date changes within the term can be made with at least one week’s notice of the session you are cancelling. No refunds or date changes with less than a week’s notice. No refunds available. Half term passes must be booked in by the previous Friday. No refunds on drop in tickets. If you can’t attend a Friday you are booked in for\, you may on-sell your pass. \nWe acknowledge that we will meet and learn on Wurrundjeri and Boon Wurrung Country. We acknowledge the the Kulin Nations as the First Peoples of this land. We thank them for caring for the land and the waterways and value the sharing of their knowledge and stories. We pay respects to their Elders: past\, present and emerging. We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
